Where Education Meets Theatre
In 2025, BFA established a partnership with LAUSD & MMED

This is where the magic begins. Check out our video and how our alliance with LAUSD and MMED made an impact to low and middle income students.

Exclusive interview with Roy Jasso, Lydia Acosta Stephens and Dr. Karla V. Estrada expressing why this alliance was important to the BFA theater community and LAUSD family.

Remembering Margarita Galbán
BFA Co-Founder
Oct 26th, 1936 - May 6th, 2023.

Be Part of Her Legacy

Margarita Galbán dreamed of a theatre that would serve as a home for bilingual voices, cultural memory, and generations of artists yet to come. Today, that dream is within reach. In keeping with her vision, the space would carry the name The Carmen Zapata Theater, honoring another trailblazer whose legacy helped shape Latino theatre in the United States.

More than a building, this theatre would be a place where communities gather, stories are shared, and new voices find their stage. It will provide opportunities for young artists, create access to the performing arts for diverse audiences, and ensure that bilingual theatre continues to thrive for generations.

Every contribution brings this vision closer to reality. Significant gifts will be recognized with lasting acknowledgment, honoring those whose generosity helps create a permanent cultural home for the community.
